To expose my students to a variety of digital tech tools that they will be able to use throughout their education. Exploring how to use the tools that will be introduced and used will foster creativity, critical thinking skills, problem solving, teach presentation skills, Google Drive and tools and require them to write and self evaluate.
This document will be updated and evolving with examples

I wanted a graphic that EL students could analyze in regards to decide how to classify themselves (ESL or English only) as they graduate high school and matriculate to community college.
|8/7/2014 15:00:06||Jesus||Jimenez||Spanish||Adjetivos en Espanol|
To get students engaged and learning the usual things in a different way. I think the students will have lots of fun learning.
|3/24/2015 11:36:00||Heather||Samokhvalof||Language Arts||Create a Story|
I teach M/S Special Education and I chose this assignment because my students are very creative, but have a hard time writing. This assignment allows my students to choose pictures to create a story about. With staff support, students can verbalize their story while a staff member types it up for them. Students that are capable of typing will have their stories printed for them to copy onto the computer/iPad. Visual support allows nonverbal students to gesture/point to pictures that they would like to use in their story as well. This assignment enables all of my students to participate with modifications.

Sidewalk Interview Review Video
I chose wevideo so that they can create and edit their review for their test in a more interactive way. They can also watch their peers' videos. The information gained from the interviews will be used to write a recommendation and as a study tool.

Odyssey Paragraph Memes
My students have been struggling with differentiating evidence from commentary. This is an attempt to help them understand the difference between evidence and commentary. I will be continuing to work on this issue.
|3/24/2015 13:01:29||Tim||Wargo||Geography||Tim's Challenge|
I choose to incorporate google maps into this lesson so students can see a visual(real time) of the places they are choosing to visit. This helps also to have the students create a presentation and view other students work as well.
Wargo's Trip to South America
Analyzing Quadratic Tile Patterns
I wanted to allow the students the opportunity to use technology along with their creativity to create a poster.
Warped Person Driven Plan
Students need a creative outlet for typical powerpoint presentations.
Physical education/ Special Education
Digital Video Assignment
This assignment will allow student to learn how to create highlight videos. Creating videos will allow them to send to college coaches and will allow them to review form and technique.
|3/24/2015 13:20:13||Eugenie||King||Culinary Arts||Spices|
I want the students to see the relationship between food and culture. Spices are distributed from their area of origin and is used more extensively the closer they are to that area. The further you are from that area, the more limited the use of that spice. I believe that using tech is a good way for the students to make these connections and be able to understand why spices are used in certain ways traditionally and then move on to see how they might use this knowledge to create a fusion style of cooking.
|3/24/2015 13:36:13||Steena||Harriman||Math - SAI||Common Areas|
My students show a lot of trouble in remembering area formulas. By asking them to create a poster the hope is that they will remember the formulas and be able to apply them. Posters will be displayed in the classroom.
|3/24/2015 13:48:51||Thomas||Clabeaux||Geography||Spanish Exploration|
Student's can create an interactive map of the routes that Spanish explorers traveled to the Americas. Tripline.net allows students to easily re-create historical routes, create timelines and add descriptions, and upload photos of locations.
|3/24/2015 13:48:55||Kristin||Liljestrom||Apex World History 2C|
Women Shaping the Modern World
To allow them to present the information they have learned in a new way, in this case, taking an interactive timeline from their lesson and creating an interactive map, taking us on a chronological journey of a handful of the most influential women from the last century, either for achieving reform, or for being "firsts" in their field.
Also, because I am a huge Geography nerd, and I love maps and map making / cartography!
|3/24/2015 13:49:34||Chris||Wessels||Math/Science||Sell me some Science!|
I have been trying to promote public speaking in real world situations. This assignment is set up to be a sales pitch about a new product emerging on the market. A good sales pitch should always be partnered with visual aids.
Students are able to take their own pictures which they love to do. They are speaking into the computer, which can be less intimidating than in front of the class, and is how they will be assessed on the AP exam. Students are able to integrate their own lives with their Spanish speaking abilities.
|3/24/2015 14:07:28||Irene||Aguilar||World Language||Create a Narrable|
I chose to use narrable into my student's project because I get to hear my student's pronunciation and use of vocabulary/ grammar.
Students using their own photos and voice to present info about themselves to the class in Spanish!
Special Education English
Trying to find creative ways for students to demonstrate learning that is outside of paper and pencil tests. In this unit we have worked on how to generate questions and write an ABC paragraph response. This project is the unit final where they must interview people and write a reflective paragraph on the experience.
|3/24/2015 14:16:12||Lucas||Reilly||Social Science||Water PSA|
This Global Studies lesson integrates an analysis of PSA with the study of water resources (and the CA drought). They will be able to make their own PSA that can be shared with the community on ways to save water!
No water PSA now - but here is proof that I can use wevideo (a video I created of last years CTE boat challenge) http://goo.gl/FUYtrN
|3/24/2015 14:17:14||Esteban||Monge||Science||Body systems|
I fell like the integration of web tool into lesson will create enthusiasm among the students. It will also allow student to incorporate the medium they use daily to communicate and collaborate with their peers.
|3/24/2015 14:27:26||Ardy||Riego||CTE - Sports Medicine||Digestive System|
I chose to integrate student use of ThinkLink for this lesson because it allows the student to use critical thinking. The activity incorporates a modified way of presenting key concepts and ideas that will hopefully help with student engagement.
|3/24/2015 14:36:17||Christine||May||Culilnary Arts||Menu|
I wanted my students to create a menu by using photos along with the creation of the menu
|3/24/2015 14:38:51||Katerina||DeHart||Algebra 2||Conics Project|
Desmos allows students to manipulate and transform graphs. In order to create the image they want, they will need to use the mathematical transformations and restrict the domain and range. This project helps students develop a better understanding of the effects that these can have on the graph. By using Desmos students can publish their graphs online and share them with each other. They can also easily edit and change their pictures as they go. This project provides students the opportunity to refine their mathematical skills while exploring their creative side.
|3/24/2015 14:43:36||Monica||Zasueta||Foreign Languag||Quien soy yo|
They can be creative. The resources needed to make a product is at their fingertips. Most importantly, they can go beyond the "call of duty".
Everyone will be working at their own level of the content and their technology skills!
Learning in process
|4/8/2015 10:21:21||Joseph||Gelaro||Math||Exploring Hyperbolas|
I love the idea of using the thinglink tool to flip a classroom. I thought that students would enjoy exploring the various parts of a hyperbolic graph at their own pace. Because the hyperbolic graphs are very similar to the elliptical graphs we completed the previous day, students could use their prior knowledge to help them complete the assignment. Further, using the thinglink, students can use their prior knowledge to make connections to the new material, without me telling them directly.
