Student Life & Leadership Development (SLLD) is looking to hire enthusiastic, energetic, team players and responsible CCNY students as a College Assistant, Reservations Assistant, Club Relations Assistant, Graphic Designer and/or an Audio Visual Equipment Assistant.
By joining SLLD, you will be able to gain new leadership skills, learn more about the campus, and become part of CCNY’s social, cultural, and recreational activities. Positions are LIMITED! So APPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
College Assistant: College Assistants are responsible for providing professional customer services such as answering students’ concerns and questions, managing areas and clubs’ mails, and supporting our staff with additional work that they may need.
Reservations Assistant: The reservations staff is responsible for processing club events applications, coordinating with various departments on campus to determine if specific rooms are accessible, digitally stamping fliers, managing and updating club event requests, and collecting and inputting requests into the Reservations database.
Club Relations Assistant: The club relations team is responsible for guiding 150+ student clubs/organizations on how to become an official club, conducting orientations for students who want to charter a club at CCNY, consistently updating the club registration website, checking the club registration email on a regular basis and updating the database.
Graphic Designer: Graphic designers are responsible for branding and preparing brochures and fliers for Student Life & Leadership Development. Please know that you will need to provide a sample of your work.
Audio Visual Equipment Assistant: Assistants are required to set up sound/video systems for all Student Life and club social events, maintain inventory of all equipment, and coordinate with Reservations about club events that require audio/visual equipment. Please be ready to demonstrate your Audio Visual techniques.
Other possible responsibilities include:
- Answering incoming calls and checking phone messages and incoming mail
- Responding to all general inquiries about CCNY and its various resources
- Keeping track of all patrons assisted via clicker and entering data
- Managing SLLD areas and ensure that the areas are secured and kept clean
- Have knowledge of the student services offered at The City Center (Reservations, Club Registration, IDs) and the Student Life office in general
Applicants must have strong customer service and office/administrative skills
Ability to work under pressure, in teams, and independently
Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and act quickly as situations arise
Ability to work well with varied personality types
Knowledge of CCNY Services and Resources, Facilities, and Divisions is a plus.
Strong Computer Skills, Interpersonal Skills and Data Entry are required.
