Useless error messages considered harmful.
Hello, lovely web developer!
Not every console error or exception message that Chrome generates is amazingly helpful. Some are, in fact, frustratingly useless. "SecurityError: An attempt was made to break through the security policy of the user agent." for example. What attempted what? Which policy did it violate? What the heck are we even talking about?!
We'd like to make things better.
I think we'll end up auditing most/all of the messages, but it would be stunningly helpful if you could spend a few minutes helping us determine where to first focus our attention.
What's the last error message (or lack thereof!) that made you pull your hair out?
Feel more than free to list more than one, if you're so inclined. :)
Any chance you remember how to reproduce it?
While you're here, are there any other Chrome bugs that are driving you nuts?
If you'd like to enter your email address below, I'll make sure you're CCd on any bugs I file based on your feedback (totally optional).
