11:30 - Prof. Daphna Joel: "Are brains male or female?"
The question of whether men and women are fundamentally different has attracted thinkers from ancient times. The myth of sex differences had changed over the years. According to its current version, brains can take one of two forms “male” or “female”, and the differences between these two forms underlie differences between men and women in personality, cognition, emotion and behavior. I will discuss this myth in view of current knowledge in psychology and neuroscience, and provide a new way of thinking about sex, brain and gender.
Prof. Joel is presently the head of the Psychobiology graduate program at the School of Psychological Sciences, and a member of the Sagol School of Neuroscience.
12:45 - Lunch

15:00 - Unconference.
An unconference is a participant-driven meeting during which the agenda is created by the attendees at the beginning of the meeting. Anyone who wants to initiate a discussion on a topic can claim a time and a space. Unconferences typically feature open discussions rather than having a single speaker at the front of the room giving a talk, although any format is permitted.
Please feel free to submit your ideas for the unconference!
