Facilitate a Workshop at Girls Rock Philly's Fall LRC!
GRP's Fall LRC is from December 2nd - December 4th at Mastery Charter - Thomas Campus. In addition to instrument instruction, and band formation, we are excited create space for community-led workshops!

Please note that the deadline for proposing a workshop is Tues November 15th. We highly encourage our facilitators to attend our Volunteer Training on Wed November 16th at our headquarters, 1428 Germantown Ave.

About Your Workshop!
This year, we are interested in having 2 tracks on the following topics:

1) Our Sounds / Our Selves: This track is dedicated to sharing different creative and musical skills we don’t necessarily get to inside our rock camp structure!  For example, some past workshops that would fall under this track would be:
*  Hip Hop Freestyle
*  Loop Your Voice: Intro to Loop Pedal Technique and Vocal Improvisation

2) Our Philadelphia EcoSystem: This track is a space dedicated to critical thinking and discussion about gender, race, abilities, space, alternative/cultural histories--as it intersects with our local/global landscape. For example, some past workshops that would fall under this track would be:
* Gentrification in Philadelphia: Then & Now
* Rock n Roll was Invented by a Black Queer Woman

In general at GRP, we also think a lot about gender, cultural appropriation in music, displacement/gentrification, futures, healing, and ecosystems. We invite applicants to consider and tie these themes into their workshop proposal!
