UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE/BACHELOR'S DEGREE/5-YEAR SCHOLARSHIPS
Purpose: To support the costs of attending 3rd, 4th or 5th year towards an accounting or finance degree.
Criteria: Scholarship awards are presented to students who have completed their sophomore year of college (or 60 semester hours or the equivalent) by the time of the application deadline and are majoring in accounting or finance. Candidates must have a minimum cumulative college grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent. Scholarship candidates are encouraged, but not required to join the Chapter when they submit this application (www.AFWA.org/join). Scholarship candidates will be reviewed on leadership, character, communication skills, scholastic average and financial need.

MASTER'S DEGREE SCHOLARSHIPS
Purpose: To support the costs of attending a master’s program towards an accounting or finance degree.
Criteria: Scholarship awards are presented to students who are currently enrolled in a master’s degree program by the time of the application deadline and are majoring in accounting or finance. Candidates must have a minimum cumulative college grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent. Scholarship candidates are encouraged, but not required to join the Chapter when they submit this application. (www.AFWA.org/join). Scholarship candidates will be reviewed on leadership, character, communication skills, scholastic average and financial need.

7. CHAPTER MEMBER ENDORSEMENT
Membership in AFWA is not required, but we encourage you to join AFWA and the DC Chapter and we would love to have you join us at an upcoming Chapter meeting.

*Tuesday, January 17 we will be meeting at Maggiano’s Tyson's Corner (in one of the upstairs rooms) at 6:00 for dinner and a presentation by Bonnie Kawchuk of the The Leading Voice. ‘Developing a Vocal Presence in the Workplace.
*Tuesday, February 21 the Chapter is hosting Student Night with a panel of AFWA Chapter Members at Northern Virginia Community College - Annandale Campus.
*Tuesday, March 21 a speaker from the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget will present. Details to be announced.
