International Graduate Students Association (IGSA) at UCLA is a social, cultural, and service group for international graduate students at UCLA. Although this is an organization focused on UCLA international graduate students, domestic graduate students are still encouraged to join and become part of the Executive Board.

Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all materials are turned in on time. The International Graduate Students Association at UCLA will not review incomplete or late applications.

The Vice President of Finance serves as the Chief Financial Officer of IGSA and keeps track of IGSA’s budget. This individual submits GSA fund request proposals and leads fundraising projects when necessary.

The Vice President of Marketing is responsible for photographing at all IGSA events, designing and maintaining IGSA’s website, maintaining IGSA’s social media platforms, and conducting outreach efforts via newsletters and social media.

The Vice President of Marketing can learn the ins-and-outs of drafting marketing plans and social media marketing skills through practicing marketing strategies. This individual can learn skills that are applicable to the business world.

The Vice President of Graduate Events is responsible for hosting culture nights, socials, and small meet-ups four times a quarter.

The Vice President of Graduate Events can enhance event planning and marketing skills through managing and hosting socials for international students. This individual can also learn cooperating skills by working with the rest of the board to create timelines for planning IGSA events.

What is your experience and background in event planning? Please provide an example of an event that you have planned in the past and describe your process in planning that event in detail. What are three main events that you want to host for IGSA as VP Graduate Events if you are selected for this position.
