Participation in Research Study
What we are studying:
This study seeks to find any potential correlation between the effects of daylighting and performance in an office environment.
What you will do as a participant:
You will be asked to wake up at 4:30 am and arrive to the testing location by 8:30am. You may not drink caffeinated beverages on the day of testing. Testing will conclude seven hours later at approximately 3:30pm. You will be assigned to a specific desk in one of the two rooms. You will be asked to wear a daysimeter - a device that measures your activity (similar to a pedometer) along with sunlight exposure via a sensor. These devices are worn around the neck via a lanyard.

You will be asked to complete a series of computer based tests throughout the study.

You will be asked to bring your own work to complete during the downtime between test batteries. You will be allowed to take bathroom breaks and get drinks or snacks at your leisure after everyone in the room has completed the first phase of testing.

If you suffer from hearing loss or other hearing related disabilities or have been diagnosed by a medical professional with mental illness or dyslexia, you may not participate in this study.

*Due to personal schedule conflicts for the Fall 2017 semester, we will only be testing on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

How you will be paid:
Participants who stay for all 7 hours of the study will receive $100 in cash at the end of the day. You may leave the study at any time and will be paid a prorated amount. For example, if you stay for just 3 hours you will be paid $43.
