The Green Office Program is an initiative facilitated by the Hixon Center for Sustainable Environmental Design at Harvey Mudd College. The goal of the program is to help administrative and academic offices/departments engage in environmentally sustainable practices and make eco-conscious purchases.
Participating offices/departments are surveyed regarding their practices and purchases. Points are earned based on the aggregate results of these surveys (for a maximum of 123 points). Depending on how many points are earned, the office will be certified as Copper (lowest), Silver, Gold, or Platinum (highest).
After your office/department is certified, we will help strategize with you and lay out some concrete steps to achieve a higher level of certification. We will re-certify offices automatically on a yearly basis to measure their progress.
