RLMS Season II Rules

  1. Registration
  1. Anyone who wishes to participate in the RLMS must complete the registration form posted in the announcement forum or the side bar of /r/rlms.  The registration must include your gamertag, car declaration, and number as well as optional team intent and team name.
  1. Eligible Cars and PI Restrictions
  1. GT - All GT cars are subject to a PI restriction of 800.  Any combination of upgrades that do not exceed that PI are allowed.  The list of eligible cars are listed below.  If the league determines that a car is above and beyond the performance of the rest a PI penalty for that car may be introduced.

  1. LMP - LMP is a combination of newer P1 and P2 prototype classes.  All LMP cars are subject to a PI restriction of 998.  Any combination of upgrades that do not exceed that PI are allowed.  If the league determines that a car is above and beyond the performance of the rest a PI penalty for that car may be introduced.  The list of eligible LMP cars are listed below.

  1. Liveries
  1. Your car is required to include the league number plate on the left, right, hood with your number is standard, unskewed font.
  1. You will be gifted a number plate with your number upon completion of registration.
  1. Your car is also required to have your number and class located on the rear of your car whenever possible.
  2. Teams should have matching or similar liveries and color schemes.
  1. League Structure - The season is 9 races.  Each week is two multi-class races of approximately 22 minutes on the same track.  Each race is a standing start.  The grid order for the first race is by qualifying order and the second race is reverse lobby points.  The primary room (Cup) will start at Wednesday 7:00 pm Pacific and the secondary room (Open) will start at Saturday at 1:00 pm Pacific.

  1. Qualifying
  1. Pre-Qualifying for Cup
  1. Driver’s will be required to compete for the starting grid in the Cup races by:
  1. Attending a qualifying session with a race steward in attendance.
  2. Submitting a date-stamped replay of no more than 5 laps to the commissioner no later than Monday at 9pm Pacific.
  1. Starting Grid Qualifying
  1. Provisional Starts
  1. Grandfather Provisional
  1. Those that races a full season* in RLMS Season 1 will get one provisional start in Season 2.
  1. Exemptions
  1. Previous Champions
  1. The GT Champion from Season 1 will be exempt from pre-qualifying for the first two weeks of Season 2.
  2. The GTS Champion from Season 2 will be exempt from pre-qualifying for the first two weeks of Season 2.
  1. Top 2 Per Class
  1. After 5 weeks the top two in the Cup in each class are exempt from pre-qualifying.
  1. Host
  1. The race host, in most cases the commissioner, is exempt from pre-qualifying.
  1. Open Victory
  1. The winner (eligible) of the previous week’s Open race will receive and invitation to next week’s Cup race and is exempt from pre-qualifying.

  1. Every driver 2 lowest point totals will be dropped.
  1. Teams
  1. Substitute Drivers
  1. Teams may hire a substitute driver for absences who must go through pre-qualifying as normal.
  1. Prizes
  1. Various prizes will be awarded to winners and champions, including but not limited to championship trophies.
  1. Racing
  1. Racing Rules/Ettiquette/Guidelines
  1. Do not discuss or argue about incidents, rules, or rulings during the race sessions.
  2. PASSING - It is the responsibility of both the overtaking Driver and the Driver being overtaken to assure safe overtaking at racing speeds. A car traveling alone may use the full width of the track. Overtaking may be either right or left depending on the conditions of the moment.
  3. Multi-Class passing - In addition to v.a.ii. the slower class should hold the racing lane and remain predictable throughout the pass.
  4. BLOCKING - Any Driver who, in the sole opinion of the Race Director and/or Stewards, alters their racing line based on the actions of pursuing competitors, or uses an abnormal racing line to inhibit or prevent overtaking may be considered to be “blocking” and may be warned or penalized.  Any action or decision (or any alleged inaction or non-decision) taken by or imposed by the Race Director or Stewards in this regard is not subject to protest or appeal.
  5. AVOIDABLE CONTACT - Any Driver who, in the sole opinion of the Race Director and/or Stewards, initiates avoidable contact with another competitor, whether or not such contact interrupts the other competitor’s lap times, track position or damages other competitor’s cars, and whether or not such actions result in actual contact, may be warned or penalized. Any action or decision (or any alleged inaction or non-decision) taken by or imposed by the Race Director or Stewards in this regard is not subject to protest or appeal.
  6. UNJUSTIFIABLE RISK - Any Participant who, in the sole opinion of the Race Director and/or Stewards, engages in any behavior deemed to represent an unjustifiable risk or reckless endangerment may be warned or penalized. Any action or decision (or any alleged inaction
  7. or non-decision) taken by or imposed by the Race Director or Stewards in this regard is not subject to protest or appeal.
  1. Reviews and Penalties
  1. Only incidents submitted will be reviewed.  Any incidents that occur that are not submitted for review by a driver will be considered, either unwarranted and/or resolved.
  2. Drivers at anytime following the race may submit an incident review to the race director for review via reddit or xbox messaging.  The requestors name will be known only by the race director.
  3. Any driver accused of violation of league rules will be reviewed via replay by the race stewards.  If determined to be a clear violation, the driver may be penalized by grid position, in serious or repeated violations by loss of championship points or disqualification or even expulsion if warranted.
