FYP-Employee/ Contractor/Intern/ Volunteer Agreement
Code of Conduct
Welcome to our community! As a employee, contractor, intern or volunteer we are pleased to have you on board with us. Our mission is totally dependent on your generous help and support. It is of the utmost importance to us that everyone involved with Freedom Youth Project (FYP) feels welcomed and protected in the best way possible. In order to protect our mission, the youth that we come in contact with, and you the volunteer, we ask that all volunteers, interns, and employees of FYP adhere to a Code of Conduct. Our work protecting youths and serving victims is important and we need and want your best. This includes your best attitude, your best behavior, your best cooperation and your best abilities. In return for your best, our goal is to provide you with work that gives meaning to your life, and provides you experience in being part of a solution to a serious issue facing youth in America.
As a volunteer you may be assigned a task, event work, participation in a team project or oversight on a project. We ask that you treat your acceptance of any assignment as a commitment to follow through and complete to the best of your abilities. *

Volunteers should be respectful toward anyone they work with or meet in the course of their work. We ask that you refrain from using obscene language or participating in coarse behavior, as well as refrain from any physical, verbal, or emotional behavior that could be detrimental or harmful to other volunteers, employees or contractors, and the public. *

Volunteers of FYP should strive to maintain a standard that reflects a positive example in attitude, physical appearance and social media. *

Volunteers who work at events shall never enter or be in a room alone with a teen or minor, or be the only adult in a room with a group of minors. In addition, at events, your role will be to assist presenters or to staff an information table or booth. In order to ensure the safety of those involved, volunteers should be mindful of all their surroundings. Your role will never include supervision or directing youth or minors in any way. *

Volunteers must not abuse their role in any way, nor should they use their role as a volunteer as an outlet for personal cause, gain, or agenda. As a volunteer, we are here to serve others before ourselves. In order to do this we must set aside our differences and adhere to a spirit-of-cooperation to work together and accomplish our goals. *

Volunteers may be assigned a Freedom Youth Project email. We ask that you please use caution when using or giving out this email. Interns must not abuse their email, nor should it be used as an outlet for personal cause, gain, or agenda. *

Volunteers have knowledge of plans and initiatives before they are public and we ask you maintain confidentiality until they are formally announced by FYP. Volunteers will never represent themselves as spokespersons for the Foundation. *

Authoring, Writing, Content and Graphic Design Creation: Please note that all authoring, writing, and graphic design, otherwise known as “content,” created by volunteers is freely given to FYP Foundation for use as needed to serve our mission. This includes contributions of this type created for all current and future FYP campaigns, such as and not limited to Think Freedom Campaign, and Liars and Posers. This content is authored on our webspace and is the property of FYP Foundation. This includes original, edited and derivatives of donated content for use in websites, social media, literature and other publications. Volunteer contributors (authors and designers) acknowledge that they make no present or future claims to this content, and acknowledge that the content and documents cannot be shared without express written permission from FYP. *

My work, tasks and contributions can be performed from any location I choose. Freedom Youth Project Foundation does not provide direct supervision of where and when I perform my work. There will be times when my participation will require me to be at an event in a specific location. If there is any reason I cannot attend and make it to a location due to weather, road conditions or any other reason, I understand that I rely on my own personal judgement regarding steps to provide for my own personal safety. At all times I should rely on my personal judgement regarding my personal safety when working on tasks or attending events. *

I acknowledge that participating in some activities involves certain risks (some of which I may not fully appreciate) and that injuries, death, property damage or other harm could occur to me or others. I accept and voluntarily incur all risks of any injuries, damages, or harm which arise during or result from my participation in the Activity, regardless of whether or not caused in whole or in part by the negligence or other fault of Freedom Youth Project Foundation (FYP), The Board of Directors of FYP , and/or any employees, agencies, affiliates, employees, officers, agents or insurers ("Released Parties"). *

I agree to indemnify and hold the Released Parties harmless from all losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses (including but not limited to reasonable attorneys' fees and other litigation costs and expenses) incurred by any of the Released Parties as a result of any claims or suits that I (or anyone claiming by, under or through me) may bring against any of the Released Parties to recover any losses, liabilities, costs, damages, or expenses which arise during or result from my participation in the Activity, regardless of whether or not caused in whole or part by the negligence or other fault of any of the Released Parties. *

I understand that volunteering with Freedom Youth Project Foundation requires setup time, training and resources from the foundation and as such I understand that it is preferred to work with volunteers who have intention for a minimum of one year. I understand these requirements and have chosen to make this commitment through my own free will. *

Should a volunteer have an emergency or need to resign from his or her volunteer position at any time, please give notice to your volunteer coordinator in order to ensure that the necessary adjustments be made. *
