Peer Mentoring Request Form
Sunny Side Up is a peer mentoring program in which Turpin students have access to peer mentors to support them through social, emotional, and academic concerns. Turpin sees a peer mentor as an experienced person who provides information, advice, support, and encouragement to a less experienced person, often leading and guiding by example of his/her success in an area. Students can meet face to face or communicate by phone/text with their peer mentor. Fun, scheduled activities may also be organized after school as opportunities to further develop relationships.

Why does Sunny Side Up exist?
- To increase students’ competence and confidence to manage stress, anxiety, social concerns, and academic-related concerns in the school environment.
- To increase students’ connection to school and peers.
- To instill a sense of sympathy and empathy for others.

For any questions or concerns about the Sunny Side Up mentoring program, please see Cindy Brittingham or Carrie Urshel in the counseling office or email cindybrittingham@foresthills.edu or carrieurshel@foresthills.edu.
