Ed Tech RCE Pilot Partner Application
The Office of Educational Technology, Mathematica, and SRI Education are looking for schools and districts that would like to partner with us to conduct pilot evaluations of educational technologies. As a pilot partner, you receive free, customized support from our researchers to design and carry out your evaluation. In exchange, you provide us feedback on the Ed Tech Rapid Cycle Evaluation Coach tools and agree to share your results with other Coach users.

If you are interested in partnering with us, please fill out this brief application:

Additional information about this opportunity
Who should participate?

Your district would be a strong candidate if you:
1. Are considering piloting a new technology and are open to using a lottery-based approach to assign use of the technology;
OR
1. Have implemented a technology in some schools or classes but not others, providing opportunities to compare outcomes for similar students or teachers who have access to the technology with others who don’t;
AND
2. Are interested in examining outcomes outside of student academic achievement, such as student non-cognitive outcomes, teacher professional development, or teacher productivity.

What kinds of software applications are being considered?

We are interested in evaluating technologies that are relatively untested or different approaches to implementing a technology. You must be able to collect high quality data on whatever outcomes the technology aims to impact.

What does participation entail?

Pilot partners will receive customized training and support from Mathematica or SRI to conduct one or more technology evaluations in your school(s). We will also seek your input on the toolkit being developed to support rapid cycle evaluations (RCEs), giving you an opportunity to help shape this national initiative. Findings from the RCEs will be summarized in short reports and made publicly available.
