The following are Membership, Plain Vanilla Fundraiser, Volunteer and Payment Forms.

Why join the PTSA? Students gain access to all of the PTSA Sponsored events such as the Husky Nation Bash, Winter Dance and Spring Fling with their paid membership. This is a savings versus paying for each event separately.

Parents get a discount card for local businesses PLUS they'll be providing financial support for the events of the local PTSA. The PTSA allows parents to be more involved in their child's education through programs and activities.

The State and National PTSA provide insurance for local PTSA events. In addition they provide resources for our local chapter such as anti bullying materials and training for officers. The purpose of the National PTSA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

PLEASE NOTE - Parents and Students MUST have separate memberships. If only purchasing one membership, please register the STUDENT to allow them access to PTSA sponsored events. Parent/Guardian information still required.

Plain Vanilla Fundraiser
In lieu of catalogue sales, this fundraiser is a collaborative effort between NJHS PTSA and NJHS to raise funds to support PTSA and NJHS. These funds are used to support and enrich NJHS students and staff with many programs and activities provided at NJHS.

With a donation of $25 per child, we will reach our goal of $6,000.

Just ONE thing! Many hands are needed to help make each and every event a BIG success. Maybe you are able to volunteer your time or maybe a donation of needed items will fit your schedule better. If every family could volunteer for one thing, all of our needs will be filled. Please consider partnering with our school for at least one event and volunteer to help.

Volunteer Opportunities
Below is a list of volunteer opportunities that are available at NJHS. If you have a specific area you would like to volunteer with, please note below.

Husky Nation Bash: Friday, September 16th after school until 5:00PM
This is an after school event for both grades. Help is needed the week prior to the event to sell tickets during lunch periods from 10:45am - 1 pm, Tuesday - Friday. Chaperones are needed for the event. Chair: Shawna Bittner.
Concessions
Snacks and drinks are sold at Girl's Volleyball, Boy's and Girl's Basketball games and staffed by parents of team members. However, additional help may be needed. Typically 5 - 7 games per season. Chair: Leslie Webb
Box Tops for Education
Box Tops are collected/sorted and trimmed by Student Council. The Chairperson will fill out paperwork and submit to Box Tops. Chair: Beth Schmidt
Valentine Treat Sale: February 6th - 10th
Volunteers are needed to sell treats the week before Valentine's day. Once sold, volunteers are needed to sort and deliver treats. Chair: Lynn Maserejian
Fall Fling: Friday, November 18th
Volunteers needed to sell tickets during lunch to students for an after school trip to Walther's Golf & Fun. Chaperones needed. Chair needed for this event.
Hangers
Provides for EVSC students in need. Volunteers help with clothing and hygiene drive. Work one day at Hangers located at AIS during the NJHS assigned work week for a few hours sorting items. Chair: Laura Clark
Winter Dance: Friday, January 27th, 7-9PM
Volunteers are needed to plan the event, sell tickets during lunch the week prior to the dance and chaperone. Dance is for both grades. Chair needed for this event.
Hospitality and Staff Appreciation
Throughout the school year and the week of May 1st, volunteers help thank staff with tokens of appreciation. Donations also needed. Chairs: Amy Spurling and Dawn Dickey
Reality Store: Wednesday, November 9th, 7:30am - 2:30pm
8th graders learn how to manage money in "real life". They are assigned a life and go to stations trying to figure out how to manage a life and money. Great fun! 7th/8th grade parents can volunteer. Chair: Amy Spurling
7th Grade Honor's Reception: Wednesday, May 3rd @ 6:30 (tentative date)
8th grade parents are asked to volunteer to host the reception and are needed to set up, serve cookies and drinks to families. Chair: Lynn Maserejian
8th Grade Block Party: Friday, May 19th after Promotion Ceremony
Help with the last day of school event for 8th graders. Volunteers are needed from 9:30AM - 3:00PM. Volunteer for a few hours or the entire event. Chair is needed.
Spring Fling (Dance)
Volunteers are needed to plan the event, sell tickets during lunch the week prior and to chaperone. Chair is needed.
PTSA Membership
Volunteers are needed to help promote membership, collect memberships, fill out membership cards/discount cards and file paperwork with Indiana PTA. Chair: Beth Schmidt.
Reflections State and National PTA Sponsored Arts Program
There are entries in 7 areas (dance, journalism, visual arts, etc) that are judged locally and forwarded to Indiana PTA for judging. Detailed information/guidelines are available from Indiana PTA. Entries are collected and sent to Indiana PTA in early January with final judging in February. Volunteers are needed. Chair: Colleen Tate
Book Fairs: October (larger) and April (smaller)
Assist with book fair sale and monitoring of facility during lunch periods and class time. Chair: Leslie Webb
PAWS Store
Volunteers help with collecting NJHS P.R.I.D.E. PAWS (incentive for students to follow PRIDE practices) during store hours. Students "buy" items with P.R.I.D.E. PAWS. The store is open during lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays (10:45am - 1pm). Chair: Laurie Bossman
