6th Annual Ethiopian Heritage Festival
When: Sunday, July 31, 2016, Three 4hrs Shifts (10AM – 2PM, 1:30PM-5:30PM, 5-9PM)
Where: Georgetown University Multi-Sport Field, 3611 canal Rd NW, WASHINGTON DC 20007
The festival will be held on July 31 2016. The aim of the heritage festival is to educate Ethiopian youngsters about Ethiopian history, culture, and traditions, as well as the contributions Ethiopians have made to the United States. The theme of this year’s festival, “Your Roots Produce Your Fruits,” is meant to show the importance of our ties to our motherland and how its culture can influence our young people in beneficial and meaningful ways.
There will be booths with activities, food, soccer, running competitions, Music, dancing, tug-of-war games, sack-races, raffles, Childrens Amba, and exquisite exhibits to present to people of all ages, as well as performances in the amphitheater throughout the day showcasing the Ethiopian culture.
