Create a Google Site Page

Here are some quick steps to help you create a new page for your site.

Step 1: From any page on your site select + New Page.

Step 2: Select the type of page you want to create.

  • Page types are - Web Page, Announcements Page, File Cabinet, List and Start Page.

Step 3: Provide a Page Name.

Note: Site/Page Names must be unique.

Step 4: Finally, select the location on the website where you’d like to save the page.  

Note: think of if like the filing system on your computer or flash drive. Folder > Subfolder > File

Step 5: Select Create Page.

The Web Page Editor will load and your page will look similar to this figure.

Across the top of the page are your tools, many similar to word processor or email functions and a few other things (like HTML).

INSERT

FORMAT – format allows you to adjust the text as necessary.  You can also simply clear the formatting.

Alternatively, cut and paste your content into Word Pad and then into the web site page, which is the preferred way to transfer text.  This removes proprietary code that determines formatting such as bullets, bold text, etc., but also creates an extra step in creating a page.

TABLE

LAYOUT – allows you to control the look and feel of the page. One column, two columns, or other.  Keep your pages simple, but have fun.

Add the information you need and Save to post the new page. Need to make a change, select Edit Page and The Web Page Editor will load.

If you find a need you can also create a site page and save it as a template, which can be used the next time you want to create a new page.
