Takes place at the Edgar Centre on Friday afternoons with games starting at 4:15. There is a weekly $2.50 per player charge for Edgar Centre entry which can be handed to Centre staff at the front desk. There will also be an initial subscription cost of $15.00 per player which covers the cost of team entry and registration with Volleyball NZ and Otago Volleyball. DNI sports uniform will be compulsory and a drink bottle will be a good idea. There will also be limited transport (four seats) available to the venue but it will be a case of first in, first served. Parent help for transport, coaching and team management is always welcome.
Futsal is played at the Edgar Centre on Tuesday afternoons beginning on the 23rd of February. Games are approximately 30 minutes long and can be anytime between 4pm and 6.30pm. All players are required to wear shin pads. The cost per player for the season is $40. Children will need to be dropped off before and picked up directly after their game. Some rides are available in a North East Valley Project community van for a gold coin donation. Due to the limited numbers of seats available, we ask that this only be used as a last resort for students who have no other means of transport on that particular day. Ride sharing between team members is encouraged.
Touch Rugby
Touch is played at the Oval on Thursday afternoons. Games are approximately 30 minutes long and game times are usually 4.15pm, 4.45pm or 5.15pm. The competition begins on February 18 and runs throughout the term. School PE uniform will be worn and the cost is $15 per player.
Waterpolo is played at Moana Pool on Thursday nights. Games are approximately 30 mins long and are played at any time between 3.30pm and 6pm. There are 2 grades (Beginner and Intermediate) and DNI will look to enter a team in each if player numbers and available coaches allow. Players new to waterpolo are welcome, however as waterpolo is played in the diving pool, players must be competent swimmers.Exact dates have not yet being sent to the school, however we will pass this information on when it arrives. The cost per player is $20 for the season plus a weekly pool entry fee (approximately $3).
DNI will be looking to enter a boys and girls team to play in the Milo Cup and Milo Shield Competitions in Term 1. These events are held in school time and have no cost. As there is only one team for each gender, trials may have to be held if there is lots of interest. If your child is interested in trialling for these teams in early Term 1, please check the appropriate box below.
Rippa Rugby
Rippa is played at the Edgar Centre at anytime between 3.45pm and 6pm on Monday nights. There is no team fee however an entry fee of $2.50 needs to be paid at the door to the Edgar Centre each week. Exact dates have not yet been finalised by the organisers, we will pass these on to interested players when this information becomes available.
