Using Mr. Potato Head pieces, make Mr. Pumpkin Head. (10)Use leaves and old crayons to make fall rubbings on paper. Take a walk around the neighborhood. Talk about the trees changing color. Ask you child to hypothesize why this happens. (30)Tie a string to a balloon or give you child a streamer, and encourage them to run with it and let it fly behind them. (10)Dance, skip, and jump to music playing, but when the music stops everyone freezes. (10)Using snack size Skittles or M&Ms, have your child separate the candy into piles of different colors and then count them. Which color did they get the most of? (10)Have a "triangle" day. Draw a triangle together, cut it out, and then look for triangles in your home. Have a triangle snack or dinner to finish off the activity (20)Using yarn or string, have your child string cheerios, macaroni, other foods on the yarn or string. Make some magic mud. Mix about 1 cup of cornstarch with 1/2 cup of water. Place in a tray on the table. Have your child try to pick it up, hold it, etc. Have your child describe what it looks like, feels like, smells like, etc. (20)Choose a letter (preferably one in their name). Have your child look for this letter in your home (they can look in magazines, in your pantry, etc.). (10)Have, or help, your child count out 10 objects. Determine if there are ways to sort them into groups. Have your child then count the groups. (10)Using playdough, have your child (or help your child) make the letters of their name and put them into order (15)When putting your child to bed, talk about the things they did during their day. Ask them follow up questions. Encourage them to ask you about your day. (10)Read a book to your child. Have him/her identify the characters in the book (15)Cut pictures from a magazine, flyer, or newspaper (animals, people, toys, cars, etc.). Glue the picutres on paper and then use them to tell a funny story. (15)

Make pumpkin seeds: Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
Toss seeds in a bowl with the melted butter and salt. Spread the seeds in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown; stir occasionally. (30)
While standing/sitting/laying outside, see how many things your child can identify by sound (10)Have, or help, your child count out 10 objects. Watch a family movie. Ask your child about their favorite parts (and why it is their favorite). Talk about the characters. (60)Work on rhyming words (tell your child that ryhuming words have parts that sound the same). Start with CAT and DOG. (10)Working on emotions-- make facial expressions to your child and have them guess how you are feeling. (10)Play "Follow the Leader" with your child-- walk, jump, hop, walk like a crap, walk like an elephant. (15)Using blankets, make a fort in your living room. Take a flashlight and book and read to your child in the fort. (30)Talk about big/little concepts. Find things that are "big" and things that are "little." (15)
