The RESULTS COORDINATOR is in charge of tabulating and maintaining the results from each GACX race, streamlining the results effort, working with with officials, ordering series numbers, and additional general duties agreed upon by the board. This person should be intimately familiar with race scoring and USAC rules.
The SPONSORSHIP COORDINATOR is in charge of securing money and product sponsorship for the GACX series from the bike industry, local shops, and potential series sponsors in the community. These duties are for series sponsorship and not individual race sponsorship. This person should be connected with the Georgia cycling community, bike industry and have experience with fundraising and securing sponsorship. Other duties may be added based on the board decision.
The TREASURER is in charge of balancing the GACX budget, invoicing promoters and series sponsors, collection of funds, dispersal of funds, and working with the director and board members on expenses. The treasurer should have experience managing money and maintaining a budget and how income/expenses should work for a cycling series of races.
The SERIES DIRECTOR works with the GACX board members and makes final decisions on all aspects of specific GACX items. The duties include, scheduling and running board meetings, working with each board member on their particular area, scheduling promoter meetings, working directly with promoters, working with USAC, working with the GACX community, innovating the GACX series, handling complaints/suggestions, providing feedback to promoters, overseeing rules and series changes, during a 12 month year. Additional responsibilities as they present themselves. The series director is not omnipotent and does answer to the board of directors. The director should have experience running a race series, promoting races, or prior experience on the GACX board.
The nomination period will last from October 11, 2013 to November 11, 2013. The board will review the nominees and then put up a virtual voting booth for each position. After the voting is complete, the board will review the individuals voted in by the GACX public and decide the best people for the job or whether they feel another individual should be considered. For the director position, nominees will be evaluated by the GACX board only and a director chosen by the board.
Self-nomination is allowed.
The new board members will meet with the out-going board members in January, 2014 for a briefing.
