1. Internet Tutorial. Survey sites having beginning or intermediate level Photoshop or Illustrator tutorials. Learn the content, then present your new findings either to me or to the class from the teacher station. Presenting to the class is worth an additional 3 points, giving this extra credit a maximum value of either 7 or 10 points. Include a lesson plan/procedures for full credit.

2. Demonstrate Learned Knowledge.
• Write and sketch a project proposal and present it to Dowling prior to computer work. Your proposal must include a sketch of what your finished project will look like.
Photographers: Use only your own pictures taken specifically for this extra credit to show us what you’ve learned so far in this class. This must present to you a high level of challenge.
Designers: Create a 100% original graphic design to show your stuff. It must present to you a high level of difficulty and challenge. 8 pts. max.
3. Cut-n-paste Collage. Create a 12-inch x 18-inch collage of magazine cutouts that emphasize one specific art element or design principle. Your choices are:

4. Compare and Contrast: Begin by viewing the artwork and connected activities link here. Click on the one page response activity here to receive credit. Answer the questions on your own paper, the questions on the Art Criticism sheet. 5 pts. max.
5.) Puzzle: In Photoshop, complete a Differences Puzzle. 7 pts. max.
6.) Text tutorial: You must take the picture used in this tutorial. 5 pts. max.
7.) Planet tutorial: Go photograph a rock/sand texture to complete this exercise. 5 pts. max.
8.) Book Activity: Flip through the pages of some of the art books in C119. Use a digital camera to photograph your favorite design, painting, or image in any of these books. Upload the picture into Photoshop or Illustrator and significantly alter the image to make it your own. 5 pts. max.
9.) Camera exercises: Go shoot 5 examples of each of these 5 types of pics. 25 images total. 5 pts.
10.) Life Drawing Observations: Spend at least 30 minutes sketching any subject/object from life. Book or computer images may not be used. Test your observation skills carefully studying and rendering as accurately as possible an object in 3D space. 5 pts.
