HOC Experienced Undergraduate Leader Sign Up
Every fall we select and train students to become Outing Club leaders, teaching all the required wilderness and leadership skills they could need in guiding groups in the great outdoors. However, sometimes students already have all of the experience required to get outside! Typically these students have trained through some official organization (such as NOLS, Outward Bound, etc.), though this is not mandatory. If you feel that you have already mastered all of the following skills, please fill out this form and we will be in touch about having you lead with HOC:

Outdoor Skills: comfort with tent assembly, basic knots, WhisperLite stoves, cold weather training, navigation, comfort creating packing lists for overnights, and crisis management

Leadership Background: formal experience leading small groups outdoors, understanding of group dynamics and interpersonal skills

The HOC Board will discuss your completed form and get back to you shortly! Possible next steps could include an interview and/or an evaluative trip. **Note: This form is only for undergraduates**
