Colgate's recognition of the importance of personal wellness and physical fitness is fostered through its required physical education program.

The Department of Physical Education, in keeping with current philosophy, will focus on enriching and expanding the student's short and long term views and attitudes toward physical activity. The department will promote a holistic approach to personal wellness by offering instruction in activities that will stimulate lifelong participation and well-being.

Two (2) PHED units or credits of class or activity as specified are required. The requirement is to be completed by the end of the sophomore year.

Follow the steps below to complete your class registration for Fall 2013 Physical Education courses.

    PE Passport

    Can't Fit a regular Class into your schedule, consider the PE Passport Program. Earns 1 unit of PE Students with scheduling issues or wishing to experience a variety of PE options may apply for the PE passport program. This requires approval of the Chair of Physical Education. Once approved students may attend any of the approved classes or workshops to earn 13 hours of participation. Students are required to maintain their passport record and turn in by the end date for the semester.
