Application Essay #1

Have you traveled or studied abroad before? If so, please describe briefly your experience/s. What are your personal interests, talents, hobbies? What life experiences have you had that might prepare you for this program? What interpersonal skills do you bring to living and working with others in a group? In what ways will the challenges of study abroad provide you with opportunities for academic and personal growth?


Application Essay #2

Do you have a work out or athletic routine at this time? Outline your routine in a few sentences. If you don’t work out, are you willing to incorporate a prescribed routine starting this fall and continuing till the trip begins? Do you have hiking or backpacking experience? Outline this experience in a few sentences. Have you ever done ethnographic research? If so, describe it. Are you interested in photography or videography and would you be willing to conduct research in Spain using your own camera? What camera (still or video) would you bring? Do you have a digital music player (MP3 or IPOD) and would you be willing to use it as a recording device to collect ethnographic information? If so, what device could you bring and are you able to record voices on it?
