This program is designed for the general public, no meditation experience required.
Overview: Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is the foundation of emotional healing - using mindfulness (being present when we are struggling with feelings of inadequacy, despair, confusion, and other forms of stress) and self-compassion (responding with kindness and understanding). The MSC Course is an empirically-supported 8-week program designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion and mindfulness. The course helps to explore how we typically respond when difficulties arise in our lives and to learn tools for support. MSC is co-developed by Dr. Christopher Germer, a senior adviser of the CHA Center for Mindfulness and Compassion, and Dr. Kristin Neff.
