CFIS PTO Volunteer Opportunities
There is a chairperson for each of the following committees. You will simply be helping with the needs of that committee. Sign up for as many committees you are interested in and you will be contacted shortly. If you have any questions, please email the committee chair directly. Thank you from your PTO IS Reps Beth Harbaugh, Dora Pruce and Christine Crandall!
I would like to help with the following committee(s):
FIELD DAY: This all-school event will be held at Harris Field the morning of June 1st. Volunteers execute a variety of activities/games that combine exercise with fun. It is a great way to end the school year and requires a large number of parent volunteers. Co-chaired by Meg Lynch and Heather Ryan (
HOSPITALITY: This committee provides food and assistance for events such as the Teacher Orientation Luncheon, Parent/Teacher Conferences and the Teacher Appreciation Lunch in the spring. Co-chaired by Lee Cain (
) and Jill Bazzone (
BOX TOPS: Assist in the collection of Box Tops, creating periodic reminder messages and a special drive to encourage participation. Co-chaired by Gretchen Stevens (
) and Kristina Rose (
6th GRADE TALENT SHOW: Volunteers assist with the organization of the 6th Grade Talent Show, which takes place during the last week of school. Planning begins in the early spring and culminates with the show on June 2, 2016. The biggest time commitment occurs in May when volunteers supervise try-outs and rehearsal during the day. COSI: COSI is a one-day event where the science museum comes to school. The presentations are easy to do and no expertise in science is needed. This year’s event will be on February 16, 2016. Parent volunteers usually donate 1 1/2 to 2 hours of their time in addition to attending a training session in the morning. Chaired by Rocio Moran (
YEARBOOK: Help create, organize and compile this treasured keepsake. Volunteers will take pictures of school related events, assist with picture day and choose pictures for their assigned yearbook pages (can be done at home). The committee starts in September and wraps up in May with the delivery of the book to students. Chaired by Merrilu Hoffman (
BOOK FAIR: Book Fair is for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. Come help the kids pick their books and check them out. Chaired by Katie Bunker (
CFIS GOES HOLLYWOOD: Help make it a huge success again this year! This is a very popular event and fundraiser and is the only fundraiser specifically for CFIS PTO. All the money is used for the students, teachers and CFIS school building. Contact Beth Harbaugh (
