Each summer, StartUp Britain tours the country in NatWest's iconic 1966 Routemaster bus to promote entrepreneurship. We park the bus on busy town squares and give inspiration and free, impartial advice to people thinking about setting up their own business. The tour is sponsored by 123 Reg and .UK.
Crucially, we invite energetic, local entrepreneurs - like you - on board to give that advice, knowing that you have the best understanding of the local entrepreneurship ecosystem. To help answer any targeted questions, you'll be joined by a group of experts covering accounting, law, IP, banking and exporting.
What we ask of you:-a half or full day on the bus-lots of energy!-pro-activeness in engaging the public outside the bus-willingness to share your entrepreneurial experiences-willingness to signpost to local support organisations, networks and events (we'll brief you in advance)
What you'll get in return:-a fun day inspiring others alongside fellow entrepreneurs!-mentions in our local press release-the opportunity to feature in local radio/print coverage
The two rules of the bus:-No suits - we want to be friendly and approachable, so casual dresscode is a must. We provide t-shirts and we turn away any volunteers who arrive in suits!-No selling - the aim of the bus is to give free, impartial advice. Anyone doing a hard sell of their business/organisation will be asked to leave.
We're looking for five volunteers per day and we're filling the slots on a first come-first serve basis. The below is a short expression of interest form. We'll get back to you within a few days to confirm your place. Thanks for your interest!
