COURSE DESCRIPTION: Students in this class explore different ways cinema can be interactive. You will learn scripting and design techniques for nonlinear cinema, and computer applications enabling you to combine images, text, audio, video and animation using authoring programs designed for off and on-line presentations. We will also examine examples and we will read, think about and discuss past and current ideas on interactivity and cinema.

Decisions will be based on your eligibility to enroll in the course and your response to the question below.  Please provide a brief answer in the space provided (2-3 paragraphs max).  No previous experience in interactive cinema is necessary, but you must know basic Final Cut Pro or other digital editing application.

NOTE: In order for your application to be considered, you MUST leave a copy of your unofficial transcript in Jan Millsapps's mailbox in the Cinema Department office, FA 245, by the application deadline.
