The most important thing about recovering food from an event is that the food can not be between the temperatures of 41°F and 135°F for more than 2 hours.
To prevent this, it is crucial that we communicate quickly and plan ahead. The timer starts the moment the food leaves the catering location. From then, there is a two hour window to serve the food at the event and then get it into our freezer.
If your organization has access to a car, contact us using this form and we can direct you to our freezers. If not, **a week before your event**, please indicate that you will not be able to transport the food yourselves and FRN will make arrangements.
This food will be donated either to one of the locations we serve or the Labre program on campus, depending on the day of the event. If the event is Saturday or Sunday, it will be donated to Labre which serves on Mondays. All other food will be donated on Saturday mornings at one of the soup kitchen locations.
