Hey guys this event is a bit different from the others. There will be different dates you can help out on so please indicate which dates you'd like to attend below.

*Description:
Met Council's Senior Lunch Program serves hot kosher meals to 20-25 low-income seniors at one of housing sites in Manhattan's east side. Residents are invited from different nearby Met Council senior housing sites to attend this program. Some volunteer duties include setting up, waiting on the clients, serving lunch, and, most importantly, socializing with our clients. The purpose of this program is threefold: one, to ensure low income clients receive a hot nutritional meal; two, to provide them with a social network of volunteers; three, to create a sense of community in the housing sites so that residents get to know their neighbors.

*Where: 351 East 61st Street- between 1st and 2nd Aves
*When: March 24th from 12pm-2pm
*What: Listed below are the various roles that will be assigned to
the volunteers (you will be assigned to a role when you arrive). The numbers in the parentheses indicate how many people can be assigned to that role.

Greeter (2): Greet the clients, have them sign in and sit, as well as checking off if the clients
brought down their Met Council mugs.
Server (2): Set up the sternos for the hot food. At lunch time, make up the plates and hand off
to the wait staff as they come to you with the clients’ meal orders. Must wear gloves!
Wait-staff (3): Each waiter should be assigned to a table. Take the clients order and bring their
food to the table. Give order to bartender as well.
Socializers (< 8): Assign up to 2 per table; they are to engage the clients in conversation and the
games.
Bartender (1): Set up drinks and hot water for tea. At lunch time, serve the drinks to the wait
staff as they come to you with the clients’ drink orders.
Gamers (2): Designate a spare table to board games or bingo. Must set up and lead the games
(calling out bingo numbers, etc). Distribute prizes and encourage clients and socializers to join
in after eating.

P.s please do not be afraid to participate in this event because you have never socialized with seniors before!
