The application and use of 21st century digital organizational tools

 

Demonstrate effective design through engineering and technology by using technology to create and organize an electronic portfolio.

 

The units shown delineate the scaffolded development of student competency in the broad concept and/or proficiency shown at the top of this page in red.   Student mastery of each of the units is essential in order to demonstrate proficiency in the broad Concept. Student mastery will be determined using the common assessment (task) listed at the end of the last unit.

Unit 1: Building an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) 

  

The student will demonstrate and create a student designed self assessed product that emphasizes the many different disciplines of engineering and technology by preparing a career portfolio, evaluating the effectiveness of various portfolio tool(s) used in specific technologies, and developing or improving an Individualized Learning Plan (ILP).

Approximate Time: 20 days  

 

 

Unit 2:  Building a Digital Portfolio of "Best Work" 

 

The student will select independently the proper tools of the sophisticated digital portfolio system to store work samples and catalog the work samples according to the school expectations and school wide rubrics.

Unit 3: Self Evaluation of Work

 

The student will reflect in writing upon his/her effectiveness in independently selecting the proper tools or informational resources needed, proper use of sophisticated measurement information (rubric/expectations) and materials, in order to synthesize and evaluate information collected in a digital portfolio, ILP or other independently created work portfolio.
