We're looking for motivated folks who want to help out! ConOps is responsible for the overall logistics of the convention. While no particular skill set is required, customer service skills, HR skills, and food-service skills are all a plus!
The main responsibilities that define ConOps are:
This is a small safe haven for the staff members. The staff suite where snacks and refreshments will be available to all BronyCon staff. When running the staff suite, you’ll be responsible for food management and distribution, such as monitoring supplies and portioning. But most importantly, you should be making sure the staff is welcome and relaxed.
This is where the action happens during the convention. Teams of people will be running this department together throughout each shift. Your duties would include:
- Distribution and management of radios, badges, staff perks, hotel keycards, and more
- Radio dispatch for key personnel
- Monitoring of staff locations and communication
- Convention Lost & Found
- Other miscellaneous tasks as they arise
The on-call moving crew for BronyCon, Logistics members are responsible for the transport of the convention's hardware and gear to and from our offsite storage. Members will be responsible for load-in and load-out, as well as remaining on-call throughout the convention for supply runs as the need arises. If you happened to spend some time as a Gopher in previous years then you probably helped out with this team at some point.
Our dispatch officers are located in an office with similar dispatchers from other departments. The purpose of dispatch is to intercept all incoming radio traffic for ConOps and relay information to its proper destination. Requests can range from updating a department heads radio status to relaying information between departments. For this position we'd prefer those with past radio experience.
