We, the undersigned, believe that Brandeis University should sign the Real Food Campus Commitment.  As an institution, our decisions have widespread impacts not only on our campus community, but also on the well-being of workers, the environment, and the economy.  For this reason, we support:

(-) Shifting 20% of Brandeis University's food purchasing budget to procure food that is sustainable, fair, community based, and\or humanely raised by 2015.
(-) Increasing transparency about what’s in our food and where it comes from by allowing students to cooperate with dining hall services in running the Real Food Calculator every year.

Brandeis University has a responsibility to be a proactive player in the global food economy.  It is time to put our money where our mouth is and sign the Real Food Campus Commitment.
