Sharing Clinical Data: is the system working as promised?

Much has been written about the benefits of sharing clinical trial data, and a growing number of policies and initiatives exist to make it happen. But is the system working as promised? The BMJ would like to know.

Have you requested clinical trial data? Tell us your stories.

We're specifically interested in knowing whether the reality matches the rhetoric. Did you receive unpublished data? Do you have information you can share with other researchers? Did you receive data in a timely fashion or did you face obstructions? Was the outcome worth the effort in the end?

Mindful of your time, we've tried to keep the questions straightforward. But we know the details of requesting data can be complex, so all fields are open-ended. Tell us as little or as much as you like.

In the spirit of transparency, we would like to publish your response - including name and affiliation. We may edit your response before publication, or contact you to clarify details you enter here.

Thank you for your help!
