Interested UC Berkeley Cognition and Action Lab Participants

Thank you for your interest in participating in our research program! The lab is under the direction of Professor Richard Ivry in the Department of Psychology at UC Berkeley. The primary interest of the lab focuses on motor control, learning, perception, and temporal representation in the nervous system. We employ a number of research methods, which include behavioral studies, virtual reality tasks, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and in vivo imaging techniques like fMRI.

If you decide that you are interested in participating, please fill out the following questions and we will place you on our contact list. The lab is home to several graduate students and post-doctoral research fellows. Whenever a researcher has an experiment that requires a paid subject, we will notify people on this list. Based on availability and eligibility requirements we schedule participants for an experimental session. At that time, the researcher will explain to you the particular experiment you are involved in, and you will be given a consent form to sign.

At the end of the study, you will be given some references from the scientific literature that are related to the type of tasks you have performed. As with any type of research that you volunteer to be included in, you are always free to withdraw your participation at any time.

Thanks again, and we hope to see you as a participant soon!
