Road Safety Audit workshop

On Monday, July 29 ABC is hosting a Roadway Safety Audit workshop for transportation planners, engineers, public health professionals, law enforcement officers and advocates working to improve bicycle and pedestrian safety. The workshop will take place at Emory University from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m at the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health, Room 2001 map.

Space is limited to 40 attendees - register here.

A Road Safety Audit is a formal safety performance examination of a roadway by an independent, multidisciplinary team. It estimates and reports on potential safety issues and identifies opportunities for improvement in safety for all road users. RSAs seek to reduce crashes by finding low-cost, concrete solutions.

In addition, we're looking for qualified individuals to participate in a Road Safety Audit Team for the Road Safety Audit (RSA) Tuesday July 30 and Wednesday July 31 of North Decatur and Clifton. The RSA will kick-off with a meeting involving the RSA team and other stakeholders. Team members will conduct a comprehensive field review of the bicycling and walking infrastructure and operations in the study area. The field review will be accompanied by a few short meetings to review collision records and operations data, discuss the safety issues identified, and develop preliminary suggestions for improvements. Other information documenting the RSA process can be found here.

Thank you for your interest and we hope you will all be available to participate in this workshop! If you have any other questions, please contact Rebecca at (404) 881-1112 or rebecca@atlantabike.org.
