What is “SchoolView”?

Edina Public Schools offers family access to SchoolView, an on-line service, that is easy to access and will enhance personalized teacher/family communication.  SchoolView will provide the opportunity to go online and find information about student schedules, attendance, demographic information and academic performance.  It also allows subscription to an email alert system that will automatically send an email when a student is absent.  In addition, families may use SchoolView to update phone numbers and e-mail addresses, stay on top of student attendance, class schedule and other academic information.

What is “GradeBook”?

Part of the SchoolView system is a new web based grade book that allows parents and students to track their assignments and course grades.  

How do I obtain my SchoolView access key and access instructions?

To initiate a SchoolView account, you will need to obtain an access key to register. New parents and parents who have lost their activation key will need to obtain their key from their school office.  Contact information can be found at the following website: http://www.edina.k12.mn.us/our-schools

What is the expectation when it comes to teachers updating their GradeBook?

Teachers are expected to update their grade books in a timely manner. The turnaround time for updates can vary depending on the length and type of assignments and on the number of students teachers see. Please be aware that overall grades can change greatly from day to day especially when there are just a few or less significant assignments posted. Many teachers provide information at Open House events as to their ‘posting’ practices.

What should I do if I believe my student’s attendance in SchoolView is not accurate?

If you have students who go to more than one Edina school, you will be asked to select a student when you first log-in to SchoolView.

Who do I call if I’m having trouble logging onto the SchoolView Parent Portal?

If you have questions regarding login procedures you can contact your school directly.  If you continue to have issues please contact the Welcome center via email at schoolview@edina.k12.mn.us.  We will respond to issues within 1 business day.

Edina Public Schools SchoolView Acceptable Use Policy

Parent access to SchoolView can further promote educational excellence and enhance communications with parents. SchoolView allows parents to view their student’s information any time. In exchange for the privilege of accessing SchoolView, every parent is expected to act in a responsible, ethical and legal manner.

Users of SchoolView are required to adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Parents will not share their user names or passwords with anyone, including their student(s).
  2. Parents will not attempt to harm or destroy data of their student, another user, school, or district network.
  3. Parents will not use SchoolView for any illegal activity, including violation of data privacy laws. Anyone found in violation of local, state and/or federal laws will be subject to civil and/or criminal prosecution.
  4. Parents will not access data or any account owned by another parent.
  5. Parents who identify a security problem with SchoolView must notify the district immediately, without demonstrating the problem to anyone else.
  6. Parents who are identified as a security risk to SchoolView or Edina Public Schools computers or networks will be denied access to SchoolView.
