In January 2015, the International Campaign for Responsible Technology (ICRT) and the GoodElectronics Network and a array of expert allies came together to discuss the hazards of the current irresponsible use of chemicals in the global electronics supply chain.
During the 4-day meeting a ‘challenge to the electronics industry’ was drafted outlining our concerns, views and demands on the industry with regard to the responsible use of chemicals during the production process. We hereby take a life-cycle approach.
We are inviting organisations and individuals to endorse this ‘Challenge’. You can do so by filling out the web form below (name, organisation, email, country).
With this ‘Challenge’ we will call upon the electronics industry to take their responsibility, show accountability and work with civil society organisations and trade unions to accept and implement the Challenge.
A first occasion to challenge the industry with our concerns, views and demands is during the EICC meeting on 16 March 2015 where ICRT and GoodElectronics will present the Challenge.
We are also encouraging organisations to use the Challenge in their own work and campaigns.
