An interactive session led by Alliance housing partners from The Boston Foundation, Northeastern University's Dukakis Center for Urban and Regional Policy, and the Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) to gauge attendees' knowledge of the housing crisis in Greater Boston, discussion of major housing initiatives both past and current, and a brief history of the federal and local obstacles that led to these issues.
II. SESSION II: The Present (October 18, 2017 @ 4-6PM)
An interactive session led by Alliance housing partners from MHP and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) to discuss concepts from MHP’s report, Unlocking the Commonwealth (November 2014), and defining “the workforce.”
III. SESSION III: The Past, Present + Future (January 24, 2018 @ 3-6PM) A jam-packed, interactive session to recap the history of the federal and local obstacles that led to these issues and define the “workforce.” Then we will embark on a discussion focused on what other cities across the country are doing to tackle this problem, including our own City of Boston.
IV. SESSION IV: Take Action (February 28, 2018 @ 4-6PM) An interactive session led by Alliance housing partners Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH), Citizens' Housing and Planning Association (CHAPA), and the Massachusetts Smart Growth Alliance to discuss possibilities in zoning reform, incentives for developers, and creating smart/complete neighborhoods.
