Academic Achievement SOAR Award

This award recognizes the student organization whose membership demonstrates exceptional contributions to the academic environment of UAF.

Applications are due Tuesday, April 16th by 11:59pm.

Requirements:
 A description of the nominated group and why this student organization deserves the
Academic Achievement honor by specifically addressing the criteria below.
 At least two recommendation letters from any of the following, minimum one by staff or faculty:
students, faculty/staff, community members, or anyone else who is familiar with the
academic aspects of the group. Please email letters to fystuorg@uaf.edu or
turn in to the LIVE office in Wood Center.
 Additional supporting material will be accepted and considered, but is not required. This
could include a list of members on Dean’s or Chancellor’s Lists, newspaper articles,
event fliers, etc. Supporting material can be emailed to fystuorg@uaf.edu
 All of the evidence presented in this nomination should be in reference to events and
activities from April 19, 2012 through April 15, 2013.

Please provide information on the following criteria:
 Evidence of involvement and outreach with academic affairs and departments on
campus and for the community at large
(such as partnerships, trainings, tutoring, lectures, documentary series, etc).
 Evidence of out-of-classroom academic initiatives that internally benefit members of the
group (such as presentations to the group, support of international educational
experiences, department-specific testing, tutoring, national conference attendance, etc).
 Recommendation of staff and/or faculty.
