Grant Description
The Allegheny Intermediate Unit’s transformED is pleased to offer regional districts the opportunity to apply for new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics) Catalyst Grants of up to $16,500, funded by the Grable Foundation. STEAM encourages a commitment to creativity, contextual thinking, and other aptitudes deemed critical to college and career readiness. transformED supports endeavors that strive toward achieving these goals in innovative and creative ways. Priority will be given to proposals that aim to increase STEAM opportunities to historically underrepresented communities. Considered grant proposals need to include an integrated approach that truly embodies STEAM learning in a meaningful manner.
Grant Themes
Grant proposals should increase student learning opportunities around at least one of the following themes:

1. Coding Across the Curriculum
2. Promoting Equity in STEAM
3. Repurposing Space to Support Deeper Learning

Grants are open to schools whose current free and reduced lunch rate is 90% or higher from the following western PA counties: Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, Mercer, & Westmoreland.
