HacksHackers Nairobi Meetup

The Nairobi chapter of HacksHackers will host a public Code4Democracy meetup between 6pm and 8pm on August 7 (Tuesday), at the iHUB in Nairobi. Google's policy manager for Africa, Ory Okolloh, will drop in to chat about the opportunities presented by new civic technologies to help citizens play a more informed & engaged role in the upcoming Kenyan elections. Ory is a former Global Voices blogger, and cofounder of both www.Ushahidi.org and info.Mzalendo.com. The meeting will also take a quick look at Kenyan entries to the $1m www.AfricanNewsChallenge.org fund, to see if there are projects that we can collaborate or assist with -- or even adopt as chapter initiatives.
