ACPE is known for it's prizes and giveaways. Part of your sponsorship investment goes to buying some pretty amazing stuff. Because we are a professional association and those attending are members, we do not have state, federal or ERate issues in terms of these laws with our prize giveaways. And, that is very important for our sponsors to understand and how we facilitate the prize giveaway process.
ACPE does not want our sponsors or members to run afoul of any gifting laws.So, please help us by following our rules and process for any prize giveaways. There are no other prize giveaways permitted during the conference for items $50 or greater in value. Small items and usual conference SWAG that are given away from exhibit booths are fine.
Each year, we have an amazing conference ending event called the Ice Cream Social. All prizes from sponsors are collected as donations to ACPE and given away at this time. This is the prize event you want your company to be a part of. You company will gain considerable good will and notoriety because your company is mentioned before the give away as the donor to the entire membership. This is great exposure!
You decide how a prize will be awarded to our membership and we will make that happen. It can be a drawing of names from your booth or a simple random draw from everyone attending. We do these prize give aways on Friday afternoon all at the same time. We give sponsors notice for "donating" the prize to ACPE for the give away.
So technically, you are donating the prize and ACPE is giving it away to their members. This protects everyone and makes it a fun last event at the conference where sponsors who provide prizes get another big round of applause and considerable notoriety.
