Participation Form for The Portrait Project
You are invited to participate in a research study designed to examine the experiences of Asian Americans in the legal profession. The Portrait Project is aimed at providing a descriptive account with an eye toward illuminating the incentives and choices that influence the career paths of Asian American law students and lawyers. Our goal is to provide an empirical grounding for broader conversation within and beyond the Asian American community about the unique challenges and opportunities Asian Americans face in the law profession and possible directions for reform.
Your participation in this study is voluntary. You are free to decline to participate, to end your participation at any time for any reason, or to refuse to answer any individual question. Refusing to participate will involve no penalty or affect your relationship with the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. Refusing to participate once you have been selected to participate in a focus group will also not affect your chances of being selected for the random prize draw. Winners will be able to choose between a 4th Generation Apple TV or a Keurig K45 Elite Brewing System for their prize. Photos of the prizes have been included below.
All of your responses to this survey will be in confidence. Only the researchers involved in this study and those responsible for research oversight, such as representatives of the Yale University Human Research Protection Program will have access to any information that could identify you.
