Getting to know Google Docs: Printing your docs

Print

You can print your documents from a PDF or as a webpage. If you want to print directly from a PDF without choosing Print settings:

  1. From within the document you'd like to print, select Print from the File menu.

  2. print menu
  3. A PDF appears with the print dialog box ready for printing.

To print directly as a webpage:

  1. From within the document you'd like to print, click Print as webpage from the File menu.

  2. print as webpage
  3. A page appears with the print dialog box ready for printing.

If you'd like to change your print settings before printing, here's how:

  1. Choose Print settings from the File menu.

  2. print settings
  3. A settings window appears, where you can set the following specifications:
    • Page orientation: landscape or portrait
    • Paper size: Letter (8.5" x 11"), Legal (8.5" x 14"), or A4 (210mm x 297mm)
    • Margins: top, bottom, left, and right
    • Annotations: include page numbers (and where you'd like them placed), comments, and footnotes. If you include footnotes, you can also choose to print them as endnotes, so they all appear at the end of your document.
  4. Once you've selected your specifications, click Print at the bottom of the settings window. A PDF with a print dialog box appears.
