To add a table to your presentation, follow these steps:
- Open presentation and click Table > Insert table.
- Select the dimensions for your table.
Once your table appears on your slide, you can start editing it. Here's how:
Add rows and columns
- Point your mouse to the outside borders of the table and a '+' sign and an arrow appear.
- Click the '+' sign to add a row or column. The signs appear on both ends of a row or column, depending on which side of the cell your mouse is closer to. This determines where the row or column is added.
- If you click the '+' sign at the top of a column, another column appears. If you click the '+' sign next to a row, another row appears.
Select cells
- Select an entire row or column: Point your mouse to the outside borders of the table and a '+' sign and an arrow appear. Click the arrow to select a row or column. If you point your mouse to a column, you'll select the column. If you point your mouse to a row, you'll select the row.
- Select a range of cells: Drag your mouse from one cell to another to select multiple cells. To select a single cell, drag the mouse out of that cell and back into it.
Note: Once you've selected the cells, you can apply formatting changes to all of them by pressing the Delete key.
Move a row up or down
- Select a row using the instructions above.
- Click Table > Move rows up or Move rows down, depending on your preference.
Change the table border color and thickness
Select the table and click the Outline color and size button in the toolbar (the one with the pencil icon above a line).
Set the background color
You can set the color on the table or any selected section of the table by using the Fill color button (the one with the paint bucket icon).
Resize rows and columns
- After inserting a table, point your mouse to any of the inner borders of a cell. The mouse pointer becomes a two-sided arrow.
- Drag to resize a column or row.
Resize the table
You can resize the table by pointing your mouse to any of the four corners of the table. When the mouse pointer becomes a two-sided arrow, you can resize by dragging.
Note: For any other changes, for example centering the table within the slide, right-click the table, and a menu with additional options appears.
