QUESTIONS/SUGGESTIONS
11
Not sure if anyone is reading this, but have a friend interested in path for next year. How many and which type of letters did you get?<-I got two path letters and one radiology letter
12
Thanks for starting this!
13
Is there a way to make all the text cells Wrap instead of overflow so they stay in 1 box? I know how to do it individually, but how do we make the whole document this way?<- I'm not sure if there's a setting for the overall document, but you can CTRL + A to select all the cells in a sheet and then select wrap text.
14
For the applicant stats tab, does "medical school rank" refer to my rank in my class, or my medical school's ranking?<- I think someone adjusted it so that programs that already offered interview dates r being put on top of the list.Ahh okayI think that's better, as it helps to track the number of programs who have extended interview dates. Now i see them in alphabetical order again.Yeah, I saw that. It's changing as needed I guess. I'm going to freeze the header at the top of the page. Hopefully, it will stop getting lost in the list that way. Plus it makes things easier to follow when the lists are long.
15
Are there any ways to coordinate with people to trade interview dates?I added a sheet called "Interview Exchange" (borrowed from last year's sheet) -- hope that helps! Thanks!
16
For the applicant stats tab, does "medical school rank" refer to my rank in my class, or my medical school's ranking?I believe it is your class rankWhoops, I actually interpreted it as medical school's ranking. Maybe in the future we should add an extra column and make it more clear. <-- Same. And "top 100" seems to apply better to Medical school rank than class rank.

Last year applicants had a running list of difficult interview questions/questions to expect on the interview trail. Anyone with an early interview willing to get this started, pretty please?Won't you miss clinical medicine?Where is the one from last year?Type into reddit "Pathology residency match spreadsheet reddit 2018-2019" Should come upMaybe I am a dunce, but I cannot find this on last year's sheet. Would love to find it, if a kind soul can point me in the right direction.<< Try this: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BNUnEJdGBFe_8kSEmuj4jFQEsLJyBectY4cTT_k_EWw/htmlview#I think they’re specifically looking for the section on unexpected/difficult questions, which can’t be found on last years sheets. Or if it is, it’s not in any obvious place, as I just checked. I have some. Will update later! <Thank you both! Eventually found a few in one row in the general chat tab, didn't know if there were more.
18
Can we add a section under interview details for estimated time the interviews start and end? This would make it easier for travel purposes. It's on the interview details page
19
Is there a way to share accomodation/hotel with another interviewee?
Yeah could we add a tab for that? It would especially useful for interviews where they don't pay for hotel (for students who don't mind sharing on interview eve)Yes, checking for hotel/ Bnb prices, the costs for two
people aren't that much higher compared to one.
I am up for sharing at any available ooportunity to
save $. Please feel free to e-mail me at
67happypal67@gmail.com
I am a FMG, looking to interview 15+ places.
So will be travelling a lot, and may have to stay
more than one night at various interview places.
I would love this idea! Also, Lyfts and Ubers from Airports that are far from interview locations!
20
Just FYI, I updated the countdowns to reflect the official 2020 dates per NRMP's website
21
In the 'Applicant Stats' tab, can you add YoG (year of graduate). For IMGs, this is a big factor.
22
Where are you Irvine?<<<<<<Went out today
23
Which programs have rejected?MUSC, Mayo, Michigan, Rutgers, Tufts, UTHSC, Cleveland clinic, UVA, BWH, USF Morsani, UCSF, Loma Linda, USC, UTSA, U Washington
24
Do you mind if we sort the interview dates by city and state or by school name? It seems pretty disorganized and hard to update for people.Well for people that haven't received that many invites (e.g. some IMGs) the "most recent interview received" is a very important piece of information. It gives us an idea of whether/what kind of programs are still sending out inviations. This is important for morale if we are still hoping for a few more, even at this late stage. I know AMGs are not usually in this situation, having recieved lots of invitations, and that's why they're probably not updating this column in the spreadsheet. Anyway, that's why I and others keep re-sorting the sheet by "most recent interview received". But the sheet is easily resortable if you want to sort by school name or state if you are looking for a particular program (just click on little 'sort' inverted pyramid on the heading of the column you would like to sort by).
25
General rule of thumb: please give two weeks
notice before cancelling an interview (of course,
winter weather is always the exception!!), but
please be courteous to other interviewees!!!
And keep updating the interview dates sheet when you get new interview invites please (even if you decline them) - this gives candidates still wondering if invites are coming out **HOPE** - this can be a scarce commodity for some non-traditional candidates/IMGs (see above).

Anyone interested in giving up an interview date at Dartmouth? I thought I had my interview scheduled with them but through some misscommunication they don't have me down! PLEASE! I already bought plane tickets...so dissapointed. Thought it was worth asking if there is anyone out there who doesn't really want thiers that much! I realize it is a long shot :)Ah man that sucks!! And they can't accommodate you on another day? I can't help (didn't apply there) but sending sympathies if that was a high priority program for you :-(
28
I need a opinion on "floating" (Taking measurements of each specimen, inking, and fixing in formalin). How do the people here rate its educational role vs scutwork? It's educational because you need to know how to completely process specimens. It's part of the workflow for grossing but not the most educational part of itOnce you get good, it also only take like 5-10 minutes.
29
Whoever has ownership of this spreadsheet, VCU is missing from the Interview Dates sheet now. Used to be there. Can you go into the history and restore it?Also I couldnt see Sunny Upstate - Syracuse in the spreadsheet.
30
Do some residency programs rank list applicants even w/o a CK or CS score? I've seen interviews w/ just Step 1 released. Curious. It probably depends on the program. For instance, I just read the req's on one website that said it is necessary to have passed Step 2 before residency begins, which implies that that program can rank without having the scores in. However, I'm sure the vast majority will give high preference to those candidates with complete applications.Answer is yes

Congrats again to everyone who matched this week!! Current 4th year resident here. I absolutely loved my time in residency, and I know you will too. I wish everyone the best and hope you all find your dream jobs :)
