*NOTE: Online courses are of three types: entirely synchronous (SYNCH = live meetings only), entirely asynchronous (ASYNCH = no live meetings), and hybrid, containing both asynchronous and synchronous components. Some hybrid courses meet live for less time than others. As a rule, classes "meet" for three hours/week. The amount of time they meet live for less than that is supplemented with discussion forums and/or recorded lectures.
