Oh yeah, I cut the intro off this track and used it on Bluff Limbo

2015-02-25031I Know I'd Rather Be With You03:44Most of the 1987 ones have hand-played drums (played on a keyboard I mean) from the Roland MT-32 which i borrowed of my friend Baggy. Because he looked like Bagpuss. He still does a bit. I love you Baggy!
Ends abruptly - tape ran out
33
2015-02-25032The Easter Egg02:24I was sick of out of time drums, so I synced the piano and orch hit with the mt-32 drums. All live in one take...
34
2015-02-25033Darwin Gets Laid02:43I recorded radio 4 into one channel as I improvised the track live. The Blind Watchmaker had either just come out (but that was 1986) so maybe he was giving an interview as it was released on paperback.
35
2015-02-25034Dr Who's Philosophy03:37Another cover. I think I made this because the MT-32 sounds were really analogue sounding and reminded me of the theme tune.
36

37
2015-02-25036The Marimba Song04:55This one's a bit embarrassing really. No Marimbas in it either - cannot remember why it's called this. Tape runs out again.
This is the last track I wrote in 1987(age 15). I didn't get access to that Fostex recorder ever again. No more tracks until 1989
38
2015-02-26037Meditate04:12I managed to borrow a Fostex 160 from a friend of a friend over Xmas holidays 1989 and recorded the following tracks with my recently acquired Alesis HR-16 and D-50

2015-02-27041CRS08:49This is the first track where I recorded a beat from a record in to supplement the drum machine (no sampler until 94). I experimented more with "samples" later on, but recording in beats or 'samples' from vinyl or tapes direct into the 4-track, looping them with the pause button and matching them to the drum machine - not always successful...
43
2015-02-27042Grade A06:32The looped 'samples' were from vinyl and recorded in live and pause-button-synced with the drum machine.
Not entirely successful
44
2015-02-27043Happiness07:11I got my own Fostex 280 4-track recorder in 1990 with some inheritance money and this is the first track I recorded. Borrowed my mate Frank's DR550. Quoting bleeps from test tone (which I heard on Kiss fm regularly, I don't think it had come out quite yet)

2015-02-28066Aquamarina06:41I was quite satisfied with this at the time.
The 'samples' - are recorded direct onto tape from records, pausing the tape and going back and recording in the vinyl again. I got most of it in time unlike previous efforts.
Auqeam (off Tango N'vectif) was a remix of this track. You might recognise the bleeps....
I sent this one off to several record labels at the time. Rising High, Moving Shadow ('cause they released Earth Leakage Trip - I loved their first 2 singles)

2015-03-020943 Time Egg05:10Me and Frank.
I used to travel to his house to make music - he had an atari and cubeat software.
This track was picked up by Evolution records when I gave a tape to Tom Middleton in Fat Cat records in early '92.
Obviously it never came out - Great Asset distribution went bust and in the meantime I signed to Rephlex. Grant asked me to redo this track but without the triplet bit - 4 time egg was on Tango N'Vectif
