A school that does not succumb to the far left or right. One that does atomize society pitting one group against another. I hope this is not happening now.
My child has only been in the system for a year--not a large enough sample size to make a determination.

Ensure students have basic academic skills, Teach students to be collaborative and work together, Promote personal growth and well-rounded students (in academics, arts, activities, and athletics), I also feel we should be including more studies as to nature and our local habits. Example endangered species/ threatened species (bees)/ invasive species ( spotted lantern fly). And the importance of pollinators and gardens to help our ecosystems.
Communication, Academic Knowledge & Skills, Use of Technology & Media, As stated above, I think students should learn about nature and current issues to our local environment.
I feel very strongly that school needs to be in person. I like everything my child is learning in school I just feel you need to add more environmental studies so we can help our state and local ecosystems.
I have very good Communication with my child’s teacher this year ( Mr. McCurdy). He is excellent.

I hope to see SASD grow into a more culturally diverse setting so that my children are aware of and knowledgeable about the multitudes of “other” groups. I hope that SASD is a place where students learn without indoctrination or religious undertones and remains inclusive and respectful to all students and families of the community.
I see SASD as a small town school district that keeps parents involved in decision making.
I think SASD would benefit from updating the portal so that everything can be included. It’s hard for parents of multiple children to keep track of all the apps for every child. I only have 1 child in school right now, but I have 3 apps to keep track of all of his stuff on top of iReady and GoogleClassroom.

All students are prepared for independence and have a strong academic background to help them succeed.
They seem to care personally about each student more than other districts.
If this doesn't happen now, have a counselor or social worker touch base with random students periodically to see how they are doing and feeling.

Prepare students for the workforce and develop real world skills, Teach students to be collaborative and work together, Promote personal growth and well-rounded students (in academics, arts, activities, and athletics), To encourage students to refine the skills in the passion they have. If that means trade school instead of college or a year off to find themselves. College is not the answer for everyone. I know from experience and have school debt. Just because someone makes good grades doesn’t make them college material. Also real life budgeting skills and savings and how to invest.

Honestly really never thought about it.
Their special education department is better than chambers burg. We were told to get out of Cburg district before our daughter’s started but many and go to Shippensburg if we didn’t want to make a big move.
More support staff for kids who need or to allow TSS in buildings and not hinder what is written for them to do. I have been there as well

I would like to see additional activities after school to help students that are struggling.
Being a small district allows resources to be focused on less people.
I would like to see after school activities for those students who are struggling especially after the last 2 years and possible year we are facing.

I believe it's very important for SASD to ensure families feel connected and are aware of what is going on, not only in their building, but also in the district. The ideal future would be where the whole family is connected to the school, each in their own personal way.
Unsure
Improved, REGULAR communication from the district, updated website, regular and improved use of social media. Consistent communication. We seem to get communication from a variety of platforms which makes it difficult as a parent to know where to look for emails, when to expect a phone call, etc.

Elementary teachers need more support regarding managing student behavior. They should not have to take so much class time to deal with runners, defiant students, etc. More full-time aides, alternative placements, counseling, family outreach is needed.

I would like to see a district where differences can be discussed and everyone works together to create an environment that is conclusive to student growth. It would be great to see students be encouraged to think outside of the box while showing respect for others who may think or approach things differently.
At the elementary level, there is a focus on kindness and treating others with respect. This respect comes from peers, teachers and administrators.
I would like to see students who are performing well be challenged more. They are often overlooked because they don't seem to need extra support. These students still need attention so that the love of learning can be fostered.

Revert back to classes and curriculums that were taught 20+ years ago. Our children today are not being taught right from wrong and are not being held accountable for their actions, this is both at home and schools. There's too much to list that should change and until the schools and handful of parents learn that liberal beliefs are tearing apart our communities and schools, things will not change for the better.
I can't think of anything distinguishing, superintendents and school board members across all nearby districts are overreaching, not communicating with the community, and ultimately don't care about what the majority of the parents want for their children. I will say all of the teachers that we have direct contact with have been wonderful, I don't believe issues with the schools are coming from the classroom.
See above.

The school district will continue to grow and thrive with great teachers and staff
They are more hands on, better communication and a better learning atmosphere than other schools in Franklin County

The ideal future for the Shippensburg Area School District would be treat ALL elementary school buildings equally. Provide the same opportunities for each and every student! Employee teachers & staff who have a passion and a burning in their belly to actually work with kids and WANT to make a difference in their lives. It would beautiful to have a district without a union but have leadership that hires and coordinates their teams to have the same goals and aspirations.

Team work between faculty, administration, and staff to provide a healthy and happy learning atmosphere.
