Each participating school will have an award winner in this category.  This category is for "certified" teacher positions which, in most cases, will be the "classroom" teacher. The district selection committee will select the winner from the top 3 finalists.  The winner will have their nomination entered into the pool and forwarded to the Final Selection Committee for the "Tri-State Educator of the year" in their grade category.

* Coach of the Year
This category is for anyone who serves as "Coach", both paid and voluntary, at a participating school. There will be one winner for each participating school district.  The combined participating "Charter" schools will be treated as a separate school district.

* Classified Person of the Year
This award goes to the people behind and in front of the schools.  These positions are normally non-certified teaching positions such as instructional aides, maintenance and clerical staff.  Please contact your individual school to ask if your nominee fits into this category.  There will be one winner for each participating school district.

Tri-State Elementary, Jr. High and High School Educator of the Year
This is three separate awards for the different grade levels.  The nominees for this award come from the winners of their respective schools. The winners of this award and all the Tri-State awards are chosen by the Final Selection Committee made up of seven community members.

* Tri-State Administrator of the Year
This award is presented to one administrator in the Tri-State area.  An administrator can be a Superintendent,
School Principal or Vice-Principal, or Department Director at a participating district.

THE NOMINATION PROCESS
You may submit a nomination on-line by selecting the "Continue" button at the end of this page.  Nomination Forms are also available at all participating Schools and District Offices.  Instructions for faxing a nomination are on the nomination form.  All nominations must be submitted by the deadline date at Midnight.

If we receive one completed nomination form for a particular person, that person is considered nominated and will be considered for selection for that category. The number of nominations received for any teacher has little relevance in the selection process and all are given equal consideration.
